In line with its yearly tradition, the Leuven solidarity choir Caminhando presented you this spring a sparkling concert named Enkonya. The title means Rooted in Rutooro and refers to the central theme of the concert: Earth. The programme was interestingly varied, with musical gems from around the world, alternated with thematic interludes. Rietje Bruynooghe conducted the choir with her usual enthusiasm.

In favor for the Arkgemeenschap (L’Arche)
In Leuven, Caminhando song in aid of the Monik Adriaens Medical Institute (MAMI) in Rwenzori (Uganda). The MAMI teaches women to cure diseases with locally grown plants and herbs. In a region with few doctors, pharmacists and hospitals, that knowledge can mean the difference between life and death. The MAMI continues the work of its founder, Monik Adriaens, who died in 2008. The concert has taken place on 28 April in the Minnepoort, Dirk Boutslaan 62 in Leuven.
You were not free on 28 April? No worries … On Saturday 12 May at 8 pm you could attend the same concert in the Church of Drongen (Ghent), Drongenplein 26. This time, we sang for the benefit of the Arkgemeenschap (L’Arche). L’Arche is a community in which persons with and without a mental disability live together.
